Genova – The day of the debut of air carrier FlyValan is approaching, as in autumn it will begin operations out of Genoa. The project will be presented at the Region of Liguria on 4 September, meanwhile, the airline has begun the recruitment of 10 flight attendants. From 2 November, the route schedule will provide business links with the airports of Trieste, Geneva, Zurich, Brussels and Barcelona. Although the project remains under wraps, some initial details of the operation are emerging.
From what Secolo XIX-The MediTelegraph has been able to ascertain,“FlyValan is a marketing carrier,” a trademark, and is a subsidiary of the Moldovan Valan Icc Group, active in air freight and helicopter transport.
FlyValan therefore does not directly hold a European air transport license, “but will nominate an operating carrier that will be responsible for operational management,” sources said. The name of the license holder company to which FlyValan will entrust the operating part is not yet known. As for the aircraft fleet, “they’ll be leased from another operator.”
As David Jarach – the consultant, with 20 years experience in air travel, and who’s looking after the commercial aspect of FlyValan (ticket sales channels) – recounted to Secolo XIX-The Medi Telegraph at the end of July , “We’ll initially use only one aircraft, an ATR 72/500 with 68 seats that will be delivered on 15 September and will be named Liguria.” The aircraft should be ready in October, and initiatives and events are planned for businesses in the area. “In February, we will take delivery of a second aircraft,” Jarach explained, “and by the end of our business plan we will have five. Our goal, then, is not to corner the competition, but to nurture a regional boutique airline.” The FlyValan website is currently under construction, and airline tickets should be available from September. “The initiative has already gained approval among the companies in the area, and not only them. We are mainly targeting a business clientele, but we also intend to attract the general public.”
